Monteverde

MONTEVERDE
Aaron and Aleeza - July 11-15

Our trip to Monteverde was mostly smooth, we had a delayed flight and a missed bus transfer.

We had great fun with our host families. Cookie (the dog) was so happy to meet us.

This was the first place we encountered dogs on the streets everywhere.

This is "Saltito," a "street dog" who followed us around. We named him "Saltito" because of his funny way of walking, it looked like he was hopping along the road. We met tons of street dogs in Monteverde.

A memorable activity we did in Monteverde was the "El Trapiche" tour. This tourist farm grows coffee, plantain, sugar cane and cacao, and they have small processing setups to show how each crop is turned into food. At the end of each segment, we had wonderful samples of the products.

Monteverde is a unique place. We walked to the institute each morning, and back each evening.

We went for a walk in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.

There was a sweet little path right behind the institute as well.

The birds and butterflies were everywhere in Monteverde.

We left Monteverde on a big yellow school bus.
